Privacy Policy & GDPR
At StudioVid, your privacy is not an option — it is our foundation. Our "Local-First" architecture guarantees that your media files, streams, and data never leave your browser.
1. Introduction and Acceptance
Please read this privacy policy carefully. By browsing studiovid.org and using the StudioVid browser extension to download HLS/M3U8 streams, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted the terms of this Privacy Policy.
This policy describes how our 100% local architecture protects your personal information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the CCPA.
2. Information We (Do Not) Collect
We adhere to the ultimate Data Minimization principle: Zero Data Collection regarding your media.
Server Logs (Security)
Like any standard web server, our CDN automatically records anonymized browsing information (hashed IP, timestamp) strictly for anti-DDoS security and server maintenance.
Feedback & Support
If you use our bug report forms, we collect the email address you voluntarily provide solely to respond to your technical issues.
The StudioVid extension and Web Studio process data exclusively locally. Our FFmpeg engine is confined to your browser. No video, no stream, and no browsing history is ever sent, stored, or analyzed on our servers.
3. Third-Party Services & Cookies
To keep our local-first tools completely free, we integrate trusted third-party partners:
Google AdSense (Monetization)
Google AdSense uses advertising cookies to serve ads based on your visits. You can disable personalized advertising in your Google Ads Settings.
Google Analytics (Statistics)
We use Analytics with IP masking to understand our global audience anonymously without tracking individual users.
Cloudflare (Security CDN)
Our traffic is secured by Cloudflare, which uses technical cookies strictly to prevent malicious bot attacks.
4. Your GDPR & Privacy Rights
As a European citizen (GDPR) or California resident (CCPA), you hold strict rights over your data. Since we do not store your media, these rights apply only to your analytics and consent preferences:
Obtain a complete copy of the minimal analytics data linked to your session.
Correct your submitted email information if it is inaccurate.
Request the permanent deletion of your support emails or logs.
Refuse tracking cookies directly via our Consent Banner.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at: privacy@studiovid.org.
5. Legal Disclosure & Security
StudioVid will never sell, exchange, or rent your personally identifiable information. The only exceptions to disclosure are:
- Legal Obligation: If we receive an enforceable legal request from an official law enforcement authority.
- Platform Protection: In the event of a proven cyber-attack (DDoS, hacking) on our infrastructure, logs will be transmitted to authorities.
6. Consent Management
On your first visit, a banner asks you to accept or reject tracking cookies. You can revoke this consent at any time by clearing your browser's cache. By using our offline editing tools, you only implicitly consent to strictly necessary functional scripts.
7. External Links & Media
StudioVid technically facilitates the downloading of videos from third-party platforms via our M3U8 extension. However, the external sites you browse are the sole responsibility of their publishers. We disclaim all liability for the content or privacy policies of those websites.
8. Policy Updates
To remain compliant with global regulations, StudioVid reserves the right to update this document at any time.
Continuing to use our web studio and extensions constitutes your formal acceptance of these terms.
